Asperger's is different than most spectrum disorders because it usually retains the majority of cognitive and linguistic ability. Often linguistic use can be described as clumsy and social cues are mysterious for individuals with Asperger's. This can often lead to difficulties with social interaction. Like other spectrum disorders, narrow and repetitive areas of interest is common. These symptoms may lead to social exclusion and often they are described as "nerdy" or "geeky." In most cases, IQ level is at least average and can be far above normal IQ level.
